Founder story
James Wolfgang Kuntz
Founder · Tarrytown Roofing
James’ journey to roofing began as a cowboy in Mexico, where he learned the value of hard work, grit, and perseverance. From there, he worked in logistics tech, financial services, and roofing — each experience shaping his understanding of leadership, teamwork, and doing things the right way. That became the foundation of Tarrytown Roofing.

Tarrytown was founded in 2024 with a team carrying 50+ years of combined Central Texas roofing experience — a company built on integrity, craftsmanship, and a genuine passion for helping people. James’s mission is to constantly raise the standard in the roofing industry, putting relationships over transactions.
When he’s not on a roof or managing a project, James is most at home outdoors — around a campfire, out hunting or fishing, or spending time with his wife, Gracie, and their two labs, Maverick and Luna. This year, their family grew with the arrival of their daughter, Charlotte, bringing new joy and perspective to everything James does. At work or at home, he’s driven by the same values: hard work, honesty, and heart.
