Who We Are
James Wolfgang Kuntz
James Kuntz didn’t take the typical path to roofing. He started out as a cowboy in Mexico, then worked with some of the top companies in logistics tech, financial services, and roofing. Eventually, he decided to build his own team of like-minded individuals, and that’s how Tarrytown Roofing was born.
James and his crew are all about constant improvement and making a real difference in the industry.
When he’s not working, you can find James outdoors—whether it’s around a campfire, hunting, fishing, or hanging out with his wife, Gracie, and their two labs, Maverick and Luna. Together, James and Gracie are excitedly awaiting the arrival of their baby girl Charlotte Day Kuntz.
With years of hands-on experience and deep industry knowledge, James has become one of the top roofing experts in Austin and surrounding areas. He stands as an industry leader for anything roofing-related for both commercial and residential jobs in the state of Texas.

I used the Thumbtack app to find Tarrytown Roofing and was contacted by Mr Jeffrey shortly after I put in the request and we discussed on what to expect throughout getting my roof replaced through insurance. Later that same day I met Mr Rick for a free on-site proposal and he was happy to come back again to join with my insurance adjuster. As a first time homeowner, I truly appreciated the knowledge and transparency from this team about roof and insurance terminology and felt I was in their best interest and that I was in good hands. The team was also able to work with my insurance and I was able to pocket some money in the end! Roof day was completed that same day and the end result was better than what I could have hoped for! The owner met the insurance claim inspector and everything was smooth sailing from start to their clean-up at finish.
