Hutto and Taylor, TX are neighboring, family-friendly suburbs 30 and 35-40 minutes northeast of downtown, respectively.
Hutto is the Hippo Capital of Texas. It is famous for its hippopotamus statues around town, which stems from a legend that a hippo escaped from a traveling circus in the early 20th century. Home to about 40,000 residents, Hutto is a newer suburb than Taylor boasting a number of new housing developments and a fast growing population.
Whereas, Taylor is about half the size of Hutto and offers a more historic and artsy small-town feel. Contributing to Taylor and Hutto’s recent growth is the construction and 2026 opening in of a new Samsung semiconductor factory in Taylor.

I wish I had gone with Tarrytown roofing for our new roof instead of the door-knockers who showed up after the storm!
James and his team are a pleasure to work with and do high quality work as I’ve seen on the job sites we share with high quality builders.
My roofer damaged siding, created a leak, and left metal shards all over the yard and lied to me about sending his crew over to clean up after. After 3 attempts to have them come clean the yard, I was still finding tons of metal shards and screws where my kids play.
Moving forward, I will only call Tarrytown if I need a roof.
I had a similarly bad experience with a local gutter company who failed to use T brackets to level my gutters and the rain was pouring over the sides of the gutters. They then came back and did a sub par job installing wedges that later fell out because they didn’t remove the gutter prior to installing wedges.
Tarrytown will do my next gutters.

Edited this review after speaking with the owner of the company. Looks like a scam business is claiming them in calls to probably get business using Tarrytown's name to get in the door.
Great attention to care and make sure that even non-customers are handled with care. If I do ever end up needing roofing needs, they will be at the top of the list.

I cannot give enough kudos to Tarrytown Roofing for their fantastic work to repair my hail-damaged roof and gutters. Jeffrey and team promptly responded to my request to inspect damage from the May 2025 hail storm, which decimated my home with 3"-4" hail stones. They worked directly with my insurance company to get me the most value from my policy, including meeting with my adjustor and actually getting up on the roof to inspect damage (instead of just sending up a drone). Everything was communicated to me clearly with plenty of advance heads up. When the team arrived, they made sure to put down tarps and a pool cover, keeping my plants and garden safe from debris. I was amazed at how quickly the roof was replaced, with Jeffrey offering ideas on how to make the new roof look even better than the old one and spotting areas where I could make minor upgrades. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the results - the house looks better than ever, my roof is fully replaced along with my gutters and soft metals, and my home was left in a clean, polished state. This is the company you want to hire and have on your side!

Austin Queen and Tarrytown Roofing are exceptional in the roofing industry. Austin showed up within days of a major hail storm and explained everything thoroughly. He also worked directly with our insurance to make sure we got all the money we should have. When our insurance wasn’t going to pay for gutters, he went above and beyond to show them pictures of the damage and was able to get us an extra $5000 to go towards repairs. You won’t go wrong using this roofer in your time of need.

I had such an amazing experience with Tarrytown Roofing. Jeffrey came to my house when an insurance adjuster came and showed him where damages were. Then he let me know exactly what to say to the insurance company to get full roof replacement. They worked on my roof when I was in Japan, but Jeffrey sent me a couple of pictures of the roof and let me know how the project progressing via text messages. Thank you so very much 🙏

Outstanding service from start to finish! We have been dealing with our home builder and warranty since purchasing our home (2020) as our metal roof was leaking into a bedroom. The builder’s solution got worse each time they came out, but dealing with Rick from Terrytown Roofing was painless. They provide before and after pictures as a courtesy to all customers. Terrytown Roofing staff were also courteous as they were constantly keeping us in the loop in which kept us at ease after dealing with our home builder. They assessed, quoted and performed the solution within a few days!

This review is a long time coming....my fence was knocked down by the March/April winds...that same day Mr. Rick Endruschat knocked on my door talking about roof inspection/damage...I was a little overwhelmed about the fence...I asked him if I could have his card and call him after the fence situation. He emphasized, sympathized and said no problem call me when you're ready.... I called him a couple weeks later.... various issues arise...Mr. Rick guided me and told me about the best choices for my situation. I never got double talked, put off ...he treated me like his only customer. I know I wasn't but that is the kind of customer service I received. I couldn't have been more appreciative. Tarrytown Roofing's communication with their customers is TOP NOTCH!! My roofing was done, issue was completed, and I couldn't have been happier with this company. My journey to find a trustworthy roofing company was born from a challenging experience in 2018 when I had my hail-damaged roof replaced by a well-known, established local company that initially seemed reputable. Unfortunately, what followed was poor craftsmanship, unmet promises, and a frustrating experience. That encounter left me determined to find a roofing company that would restore my faith in quality service.
Fast forward to 2025, when I reached out to several companies through Yelp for bids on repairing damaged shingles and a small hole caused by a tree branch. From the moment Jeffrey Jones arrived, I felt an immediate sense of trust. He not only provided a fair and honest estimate but also pointed out hail damage that I had not noticed. His positive demeanor, coupled with his transparency about what needed to be done put me at ease. There was no pressure—just clear, straightforward guidance.

I used the Thumbtack app to find Tarrytown Roofing and was contacted by Mr Jeffrey shortly after I put in the request and we discussed on what to expect throughout getting my roof replaced through insurance. Later that same day I met Mr Rick for a free on-site proposal and he was happy to come back again to join with my insurance adjuster. As a first time homeowner, I truly appreciated the knowledge and transparency from this team about roof and insurance terminology and felt I was in their best interest and that I was in good hands. The team was also able to work with my insurance and I was able to pocket some money in the end! Roof day was completed that same day and the end result was better than what I could have hoped for! We received several bids for re-doing our roof after the 2024 Austin hail storm and decided on Tarrytown roofing. The owner met the insurance claim inspector and everything was smooth sailing from start to their clean-up at finish.
